This week is critical to all and I for one am loving being a part of the 2010 Challenge with you. It is great to see how much everyone is helping one another and really actively participating in the blogs!

So… Let’s remember this week in particular – We need to all get behind each other!

    • Joan Hardie Says:

      Geoff,
Hi I need your advice over 60 no trouble walkingi do about 20.000
a day but cant do squats due to bad knee,i am on blue band for BS
This diet BTis a fantastic one Geoff, pity it wasnt around 40 yrs ago
We all love to eat,& I do
      Thank you Joan

      • Akasha Says:

I am the same Joan. I have had a bad knee and I did do the squats for one week and then found myself with my feet up and not able to do anything for two days as my knee started playing up again. I have had to stop the squats altogether, won`t do them again and now I just do the upper body work. Which is a shame as the squats work the largest muscle, but thats life when you have a bad knee.

      • Bluegirl Says:

My advice, as a physiotherapist would be to continue with a small number of reps, say 8- 10 with the red band, but only in a pain free range. So if you only move down a small way (known as a mini squat), that is fine. Make sure your knees stay over your feet. Strengthening the quad muscles is about the best thing you can do for you knees. As the strength improves, you will find them easier and able to go deeper into the squat.
If it is still do hard/ painful, I would encourage you to find a alternative exercise to strengthen your quads.

  2. Maggie Says:

Thanx for the awesome answers Geoff; great tips!! I must admit I fell half off the wagon over the wknd, but am back on track and ready to continue the challenge!! Bring it on 🙂

    • Kerrianne Says:

Maggie same with me, But I think the exciting stuff is that ya stumble but then get back in check How good is that. We handle the curve balls. I have another curve ball coming a birthday so the wagon will shake abit again but All Good. Like you when it is over I will get back into the correct eating etc again.

      • Nicky Says:

        Hi Kerrianne,
Have you tried the trimshake? I have and can’t stand the taste of the sweetner. Is this just me?

  3. deb b Says:

    Great Stuff ,thanks Geoff..

Enjoying this so much .. .. week 4 bring it on…… Cant wait to try out moving up a band…. happy Sculpting everyone….

  4. Gita Says:

    Thanks Geoff
I am feeling a bit chuffed that one of questions you addressed was mine- the one with Black/coffe with splash of milk and breathing. Thank you for clarifying the breathing pattern and the feet position. I must also add, I have just finished 1 week and for the first time ever I have lost more than 1 Kg in a week since I started BT in June 2009.
So thank you for setting this challenge
    Gita

  5. Akasha Says:

Allot of helpfull hints there I can certainly relate to the shoulder press exercise question. Next time I will just be putting the band under one foot.

  6. Christine Says:

    I am stoked!
Great food….weight & size loss……energy to burn…..my husband ‘buddy’ has never looked so alive……my life has already changed in so many ways….my boys have their fun and energetic Mummy back!
    Thanks Geoff and the Team
    blessings to all,
    Christine

  7. Shirley Says:

Please dont lose track of what you initially wanted in helping people to lose weight and get side tracked into making more money by getting people to buy your meals. People who want to lose weight are more than often, at their last resort and consequently easily convinced with whatever you say, which is fine, but dont feed off their desperation with more money orientated schemes that only feed your pocket. Keep genuine Geoff!

    • Kerrianne Says:

      Hey Shirley,
Remember as humans we all read things differently. I am not desperate and certainly not using BS as a last resort and am not swayed by a quick sell. I am time poor and want to get the most out of this great system. High protein low carb is hard especially when ya lack time, so a quicky meal for me is fantastic. With the frozen vege! Stops me reaching for the carbs. And the many quicky meals already out in supermarkets are much more carb based, so I am giving Geoff a BIG Tick. I now have another choice. Life is about choices so everyone will do what they think is right for them. I love it and will certainly be trying them out with hubby. Means he can cook on a Friday night and it wont mean pizza!

    • Brian Stewart Says:

It’s all about choices Shirley. These meals are an option for you IF you need or want them. I am yet to see a business that puts a product on the market and then not try to sell it.

I believe Geoff and the Body Trim team are doing a great job giving us options. I personally would not buy the meals, but I do use other products (protein Powder). Without him trying to see it, how would I know about it.

He’s not telling us we can’t do Body Trim or Body Sculpt without it!!!!!!

  8. vicky sharp Says:

thanks Geoff for your helpfull information iam having a bad day today had a slice of carrot cake feel so bad, been so good until now but no more back to it. start fresh get over slip up move on.Had a bad day because i had a bad night up with upset stomach bug didnt eat all day then in afternoon was feeling better, so hungery went for carrot cake instead of a protein bad move.Been beating myself up eversence.I”v had my say not happy today back on track but and tommorow is another day and it will be a better day all the best to all vicky Xx

    • Kerrianne Says:

      Hey Vicki,
Don’t be hard on ya self. My friend cooked me a burthday cake. Very rude not to eat a slice. So I had 2. All good. doesn’t happen much, so slip ups are part of life. It is those like you that get back on the bike that RULE.

    • Julie Says:

      Hey Vicky,
I took my husband out to dinner last weekend and was so proud of myself that I stuck to BT compliant food but then I got food poisoning and didn’t eat anything from 9.30pm saturday night to 1pm monday as just the though of food made me want to be sick. I have also been on holidays this week in the hunter valley and have totally been off track. Since I have sabotaged myself and have felt like the fatty all week and I cant recall how many times I have got angry with myself at the end of the day its all good. Once I get back on track, I will lose the weight I have surely put back on plus more. I can do it and so can you. Its our choice what we eat and we are the ones who pay for it. There is always going to be something that we slip up for. Good luck with your weight loss.

  9. Simone Davies-Brown Says:

    Hi Geoff and all!

It’s great reading how you are going. I personally are not yet losing weight, so instead I am ignoring the scales and being motivated by my measurements reducing.

Another thing is for those who find they are eating something they shouldn’t – my philosophy is that this system is something we can maintain for life. If you can recover quickly rather than feel bad about what you’ve eaten and therefore eat more, then you will find that you will still make fantastic progress. Being kind to ourselves instead of “beating ourselves up” is going to work far better towards achieving our goals, so focus on the things you are doing right and more and more doing things right will become second nature.

    Well done everyone!!!

  10. Tanya R Says:

I didn’t have the best of weeks, but I am still feeling really good!

I may not have been perfect (I did a little bit of emotional eating this week, i just good in one of those moods that is hard to break) but I have been so much better than I have been in the past with other attempts to lose the kg’s,

I actually feel like I am still on track and I am eager to put it all behind me and today I started fresh. This week my aim is to only eat real food, no pork crackles or protein bars, the only fast food I am allowing myself will be the odd protein shake for my morning snack/breakfast on my EPOC days (due to timing).

Good luck everyone – Keep up the goodwork

  11. Phillipa Says:

Have to say when i started body trim i found it really easy and was excited to start the body sculpt as I put on a few kilo’s over chrissie.. But sadly I’m having trouble getting committed like I was the first time around. Having said that though watching the videos u send out and getting the text messages is a gentle bump to get me on track again and hopefully ill get back on track soon.. Each day im getting better, but i slide at wine o’clock lol

    • PAUL C Says:

Hey, Phillipa- when you struggle at “wine o’clock”- try a “pretend” G&T- which is basically a glass of DIET tonic water with a squeeze / slice of lime & a wee sprig of mint. OK- its not a glass of Chardy, but it is very refreshing! Best of luck!!

    • Colleen Says:

Hey, Paul!! That’s exactly what my husband and I do! We WERE big drinkers prior to me taking on this challenge, so having a glass of Diet Tonic Water on ice is a great replacement for a G&T (or two). And I am being very strict though, so NO lime for me! 😉

      Colleen

  12. Jenni Says:

Thanks Geoff for all that you are doing for all of us. It is fantastic. I have struggled since i started Bodytrim to lose more than a kg in a month and i have achieved it in this 3 weeks ” SO WOW” i have lost cm’s every week. That is awesome to me.
I haven’t struggled with BT though as i have found it really does take away those cravings that i had put down to being a very weak will power.
It has also taught me delayed gratification. LOVE THAT EVEN IF IT DID TAKE A WHILE TO GRASP.
Also thanks Geoff for the meals i did get them when they first came out and they are great to have there when you just run out of time and will go over the 3 hour rule, Haven’t needed them at all on this challenge.
I also want to congratulate you on covering all that matters to us trying to get our body back in shape and live a great lifestyle maintaining it.
I don’t like anything that is artificially sweetened so i asked about stevia and the next day that told me it was ok. great communication. thanks too for that asset.

One LAST thing how do we get the work outs down to 20-30 mins????

3 weeks to go and counting down I want ot lose 2 kgs in this 3 weeeks. HERE GOES!

  13. Sue Says:

Thanks for the tips Geoff it certainly helped as i was putting the feet wrong on some exercises. Lets go everyone we are already achieving by being on this great support system. Reading everyones highs and lows makes this system realistic as no one is perfect! Already feeling better about myself and are not far off one of my first goals of loosing 5kgs. Keep it up everyone we can all achieve our goals!!

  14. Mellyj Says:

    hey geoff
going good this is my 5th week into it and so far ive lost just over 2kgs which is not much but im happy with it anyways, im finding food decisions are getting easier and im not too hard on myself when i slip up because its usually on a jumpstart day, looking forward to seeing the price of the meals cause i think they would help heaps!
    Thanks Mel

  15. Jill Says:

Starting to feel demoralised have been following bodysculpt religeously since start of challenge and have only uscceeded in putting on 1.5 kilos. Have been BTing since June and lost 30 kilos, thought bodysculpt would speed things up but have only gone backwards. Its the only time I haven’t lost weight since starting! Trying to remain determined but it is getting hard!

    • Mandy C Says:

Hang in there Jill- I’m not seeing a lot of action on the scales myself, but by crickey has my body shape changed! I’m currently at 81kg, but am getting back into clothes that I used to wear when I was in the mid 70’s kg range. We have to forget what we thought of as our “ideal weight” when we were dieting “old-school” (i.e.- starving ourselves!). With all the protein we eat on BT & BS, we are maintaining (& adding to) our muscle mass- which is going to increase our resting metabolism. Find an old pair of jeans or a dress & be guided by the fit- don’t get hung up on the numbers! Hang in there!!

    • faye mccormick Says:

Hi Jill, Don’t let the mind bet you. Lets face it. It is hard work and you have done so well. So pick yourself up and dust yourself off. And REFOCUS. Write down why your started this journey. Or as I like to call it. This rollercoaster ride. Mine was a friends wedding and I wanted to be and look hot. I’m sick of being the frumpy lumpy one. I want people to see me and go HELL she looks HOT. And why not I have worked bloody hard and I am not going back. Instead of betting yourself up for a hic-cup and that’s all it is. Give yourself praise and look in that mirror and smile the biggest smile, cause girl YOU RE A STAR and you need to know IT’S YOUR TIME TO SHINE.

    • Cheryl Says:

Hi Jill! I can totally relate to what you are going through – I thought I was the only one to be actually putting ON weight, not losing it!! (Since starting the challenge, I’ve gained 1.8kgs). However, I have noticed that I’m now more toned, and don’t “look” like I’ve gained weight (I hope!!!). Personally, I’ve found that because of this gain, my motivation is not as good as it should be, so my struggle is to stay positive! I guess all we can both do is to try and keep on track as much as possible, and not beat ourselves up too much in the meantime! Good luck!!

    • Wendy Desbrow Says:

Hi Jill, I too have not lost any weight but I am determined to follow BodySculpt for the 6 weeks of the challenge and then re-assess. Geoff has been spot on with advise and direction with BodyTrim so why now BodySculpt. Good luck, Wendy

  16. Yvonne Says:

Great tips, Geoff! Hurt my shoulder doing the standing shoulder press, which kept me out of action for 4 days, but maintained a steady exercise routine being a wee bit more careful…getting better now. Eating went right out the window, just poor time management and laziness on my part, but I’m back on track now. Finding the ‘no-carbs’ plan very, very difficult to maintain, as I am not a big meat eater at the best of times, so following a slightly modified program a la BT…just happy to be getting fitter than before. Many thanks to you and everyone involved 🙂

  17. Annie Pannie Says:

Great tips for the bands Geoff, thanks.
I am about 2 weeks behind on the challenge but want to keep up with the videos etc as I find they get overwhelming when there are hundreds of comments – so have gotten in early this week!

I agree with Shirley – I get the Bodytrim emails but stopped opening them in the most part because it seemed they were increasingly plugging the new ‘must have, this will make all the difference’ product. Going back to the original BT DVDs the initial principle of BT was to eat REAL food that we would prepare ourselves as a way to educate us in better eating. I know that having the odd convenience food is handy but please don’t lose track of that original notion in favour of continual up-selling!

Just starting week 2 on the challenge proper and am keen to do a better and more consistent job of it than last week where I fell off the wagon big time on the weekend. Have my parents visiting so will need to be strong to resist their offers of wine and snacks after work!

  18. Criss Says:

HI Geoff, have been doing BS for 2 weeks now ,but weight is staying between 94 to 95 kg, its one or the other each day , but I dont seen to drop any more, but yet my daugter said to wife this morning walking to school , mum have you seen daddy lattly he has lost weight & looking sexy, so mum, it really does work. Well this is encouaging to here from my duaghter, so my wife told me this afo take off your shirt & show me, so I did, well good fed back, so maybe the weight is turning into muscle or tonning?.
    What do u think?.
Ps, today I went walking as usaually , but had more energy & stated to jog , this never happens, so very excited about more energy.
    Criss.

  19. Rebecca Caldwell Says:

    Hi Geoff and all

The advice you have given for the shoulder press is very helpful. This is actually the start of my second week. I have lost 2.8kgs in my first week and a total of 3cm off my Chest, 5cm off my Waist and 4cms off my Thighs. I haven’t reached my 10,000 steps as yet but I’m giving it my best shot. I’m really enjoying the early morning walks. Congratulations everyone on their results so far.

  20. Mandy C Says:

Down one more kg & 1% body fat- feeling fab & clothes are fitting as though I have lost more. I am only using scales as a rough guide- finding the fit of my clothes a much better yardstick. My hubby, Paul C is looking very trim & doesn’t get moody or grumpy like he used to before we changed to our low carb way of life (now I call those moods the “carb crankies”).
    Keep it up folks!

  21. Jan B Says:

    Geoff
    Thanks for the great tips
This challenge is unreal I am stoked I hasve lost 5kg since I started on Feb 1st. BS is obviously really suiting my body. On BT the free day would send me into a frenzy a carb train frenzy that I couldn’t jump off.
But the jumpstart days are fantastic I am now craving Houlimi chesse on these days and maccadeamia nuts instead of chocolate yum yum.
    No more feeling so bloated.
I hope this wont be the last challenge Geoff I am loving it.
    JB

  22. Lynn Says:

I must say that I have been enjoying some of the food ideas for the AWL days. I tried the chicken schnitzel with the almond meal on Saturday with a bit of avocado. It tastes much better than chicken with breadcrumbs – absolutely delicious. I’v decided that is how I am going to do chicken shnitzel from now on. The chocolate ricotta is very nice too . I might try the lemon cheescake this week.

  23. Jenny H Says:

This weeks video has helped heaps in working on my foot placement & breathing. Now all I have to to do is get the kids (18 & 20) to stop interrupting me during my workout. But all is going well still losing weight slowing but measurements are decreasing faster.

  24. Paul C Says:

Gone from 99.9kg to 94kg. CHOICE ONE!!!
I need to buy a new belt. Anyone out there thinking Oh I’m going to have a chunk of cake or getting boozed up…..DON’T DO IT! You will most likely regret it just after and make yourself grumpy anyway. This is your chance NOW, you have taken the first step so get hard.

    PAUL

  25. Kerrianne Says:

Well finally I have dropped another kg. Sooo excited. I see the cm’s drop the kg,s have been slow. And also a great compliment from someone who had not seen me for awhile. Told me that I had lost “some condition” since the last time. Men! had to laugh. His way of saying I had lost weight. So I AM NOW HOOKED ON BS. And the pants are starting to fall off!!

  26. sandy Says:

    Hi Geoff

Thanks for the tips, they’re a big help.
The shoulder press advise is great. Although I do find it starts to get tough by the third set.
I actually enjoy the challenge, stay focused and keep thinking of my achievements over the past few weeks. This is my 4th week on BS and I have lost almost 5kg with only 3kg left to lose to reach my goal weight.
All the best to everyone. Keep the fantastic results coming.
    Thanks.

  27. JM2010 Says:

Thanks heaps GEOFF for the tips on the shoulder press – might do the single step on the bands – bit scared the knees might be too sore?? But yeah, me and my hubby are still SOOOOOOOOOOO keen. This is the beginning of our third week – and we are going strong. I did my EPOC in the morning but hubby is doing his now. hehe. We’ve both been losing weigh still, me 3.8 in the first two weeks, and my hubby 5.8kgs. I know we’ve lost more measurement wise, because my tight fitting pants are now loose. I’ve just found a tape measure so will do the measurements as well now!! So all of you out there who may not be having lots of weight loss, I say go for the clothes too!! Even though the scales aren’t going down fast, the clothes are definitely a good measure!! Plus; my friend at work is convinced I look like I’ve lost 15kgs or something, and actually getting in on the BS too!! haha. But yeah, keep strong everyone, together we can all lose the tight fitting pants!! And get this; the last week of the challenge is whilst my 35th birthday is on, so that’s not fair – no KFC for me on my birthday!! haha. Happy Bodysculpting everyone!!!

    • Kay Bernard Says:

Happy Birthday JM 2010 in a few weeks time. You will be able to celebrate your fantastic efforts and results as well as your Birthday. You might even get a new pair of PANTS that show off your new figure.
      Good Luck and Best wishes.
      Kay

      • Kayley Says:

        Hi Kay,
How are you going this week. I just watched the video and now know how I will be doing my shoulder presser, I did manage to do 30 but then only 15 and 15 I now have high hopes for tomorrow morning. I have had a good week but craving a bit of chocolate the last day or so, I will try to be strong. How are your shoulder pressers going? Did you have your questions answered? Hope you have a good week ahead.

      • JM2010 Says:

Hi Kay, thanks for that. I actually got asked today (3 March) so reply is a bit late – been busy at work – but I got asked what I’m doing because I’m “shrinking”. haha. Am even more motivated every time I get comments like that, and I’ve had three different people mention it to me this week so far. So yes, I am planning on spending my birthday buying me a new pair of “more fitting” pants!! haha. Thanks for the birthday wishes Kay 🙂

  28. Mona Says:

I’m still having trouble viewing e-lesson 3. Last week I could only see the first three minutes. Downloaded the new version of Adobe, but made no difference. When trying to view e-lesson 3 today, I keep getting e-lesson 2 up… Which means that I have missed e-lesson 3 altogether. Can anyone give me any tips on how to view lesson 3 please?
    Thanks.

    • Wendy Desbrow Says:

Hi Mona, I find that if I press the play on the video and then pause it for a couple of minutes it plays through fine. If it is extra long you may need to do it again throughout the video. Hope this helps, Wendy

  29. Kelly G Says:

Everyone seems to be doing really well which is great. I had a good starting week and struggled ever since, I’ve also found that my energy levels are very low with no “sugary” carbs making it harder to find the energy to do much exercise. Feeling guilty that we are half way through without any real results aside from the initial 1kg lost due to my own lack of motivation. Am hoping I can somehow get back on track this week.
    Thanks.

    • Bec P Says:

Hi Kelly, please don’t give up hope, you can do it! Try checking that you are eating everything correctly and that the timing is within the 3 hr rule. You will get through the rough patch if you persist and then your energy will be back in no time and there is no reason to feel guilty. Did you take your measurements before you started? Check those too as you may be surprised! We are not supposed to focus on the kg too much but the cm and you may be putting on muscle which weighs more than fat. Find an event (or short term goal, something that is attainable) that you can work towards and keep pushing through. Maybe even hang up an item of clothing that you absolutely love in an area where you can see it all the time to give you something to work towards. You can do it!!! (the mind is a powerfull weapon!!!)
      Cheers Bec 🙂

  30. Kay Bernard Says:

Thanks Geoff will definately be varying the shoulder press style and try some of your suggestions. Thanks for the feet clarification will help a lot.
I have still only lost 5 kgs same as last week but cm’s are still dropping and body fat was down 2% this morning so very happy. I do focus too much on the scales though as this is all I’ve known for sooo long.
Good luck to everyone and keep up the fantastic efforts we are all so much better and healthier for having a go and for taking up this fantastic challenge.
Can someone tell me where the recipe’s are from eg the chicken schnitzel??? Thanks.
    Cheers Kay

    • Akasha Says:

      Hi Kay,
I think they are under week 2 video, the file under there, the second cheet to lose recipes.

I had the chicken snitzels for my advanced free day dinner last night. Had it with some steamed brocolli, it was very nice.

      • Kay Bernard Says:

Thankyou Akasha I will look there for the recipe. Sounds nice. I love chicken Schnitzel and will definately try it.
        Thanks again and Good Luck.

  31. Suzanne McEwen Says:

    Hi Geoff,
Thanks for finally clearing up feet position, maybe I will feel more comfortable when dooing bands now. Off track a bit last two weeks, not totally compliant diet of bands but the best thing is I may not have lost a great deal of weight but I certainly didn’t put any on. That’s a first. Back on track and got snacks prepared,my back and shoulder are feeling easier so will be able to do more reps. Just one comment, when you have special deals could you please start them laate afternoon/evening, often by the time I get on computer I have mised out. Otherwise I’m very happy with the program becausse I’m really seeing results even if slower than some.

  32. Dani Says:

    Hey!

I’m only up to my second week of the 6 week challenge as I started on the 15th of Feb due to getting dreadfully sick and other dramas.
I’m just wondering, will there still be such strong support provided online in the last two weeks of my challenge as many others will have already completed the 6 weeks?
I must admit, I cheated last saturday night; although instead of feeling guilty I treated it as a stepping stone and made sure I had a protein only day the next day to balance out again.. is this ok to do on bodysculpt?

    cheers 🙂

    • Angie Says:

      Hey Dani,

I’m only on my second week of the challenge as I knew I was going to have a splurge on Valentine’s day. I’m sure there will be plenty of others still supporting us. If not, I’ll look out for you! Don’t worry about the splurge, it’s what’s going to happen in real life. You did the right thing by not being hard on yourself. Well done!

      • Dani Says:

        Thanks Angie!

I’ll keep an eye out for you too 🙂 I hope you had lots of yummy chocolate on Valentine’s Day lol… sshhhh, don’t tell Geoff!

Have you noticed any change in physique this last week and a half?
I must say that I’ve noticed my arms are much more toned and less flabby already. Not sure I’ve lost much weight but time will tell.

        Keep up the good work!

  33. judy may Says:

    Wow,

Thanks for this on going support with the resistance bands Geoff, re foot positions etc.

Also with explaining, why NOT to do a certain excersise, so as not to get that round shoulder, ‘body builder’ physique its like having my own personal trainer!! thanks!!

    • Annie Says:

Ditto, Geoff! Thanks for the tips about doing the bands without building the trapezius.
I’m still wondering if there are any extra tips regarding reps and intensity to help ‘muscle-prone girls’.
I’m guessing lower intensity but more reps might be the way to go forward. Can anyone advise here, please?
Thanks Geoff and everyone else for the encouragement and motivation. I’m losing slowly on the scales, but loving the changes to body shape and the difference that makes to clothing choices – I have choices again!!

  34. Julie Says:

Have just finished my first week today. I have lost 3.4kg – I’m pretty stoked to say the least. I followed Chris’s food diary religiously and it paid dividends. I haven’t had the best day today, but will get back on track tomorrow. Good to read everyone else’s comments and views. It does help. I can hear a lot of my own thoughts and downfalls echoed in others. Stay strong…….you can do it!!!!

  35. Abby Cooper Says:

Hi Guys, it’s so comforting to hear that others have not achieved massage losses on the scales. I was heartbroken when I jumped on after 2 weeks and I’d gained 1kg. Granted I hadn’t been totally complient for a couple of days, but I’ve diligently recorded meals and exercise three times. Must get more motivated to walk though. It tend to miss a walk on my exercise days.

Want to put a question out there though…is anyone else having bowel movement issues? Not having a carb day has really had an impact on my inner workings, even with several aids to assist…How do others avoid this problem on BS without any fruit or little fibre….

  36. judy may Says:

Just adding to the above, I no longer need shoulder pads, I actually have shoulders now!! (started the bands a few of months ago)

    In three weeks, I have lost , b 3cms w 3cms, h 2cms, u/arm 1 1/2, uleg, 1cm.

    Very happy with those results!

  37. Priscilla Says:

Hi I have to pull out after a recent bout of abdominal surgery. I will try to keep up the diet side but cannot do any strenuous exercise for at least a few weeks. Bit of a shame but will try to pick up when I can.

  38. Julie Says:

    Hi Geoff & fellow BSrs,
I was so excited that you read my question about feet placement. Have my EPOC training tomorrow so will use your tips and suggestions tomorrow.
I am really weak in my arms so can’t wait to try your suggestions for the upright shoulder press. Even though I haven’t had the best results I’m hoping for better results these last 3 weeks. Good luck everyone and thanks again Geoff.

  39. Bec P Says:

Thanks Geoff, I so look forward to your emails on a Monday and what a beauty this on was. It answered all my questions!
I had a bad weekend too, as quite a few above me did. I have to say though, I was pleasantly surprised to see that almost all the things that I craved before and thought were yummy are not so anymore and I wont be so quick to eat them again. I have never been a salad lover and only liked the peas, corn, carrots, potato sort of vegies. I am enjoying the new vegies I have found and after initially finding it hard, have started to enjoy my salads too. I also feel so much lighter and healthier.
I have to say a bit thankyou to my buddy too, she has been a great support and I look forward to getting a laugh everyday when I read her next message as we are very similar.
Last but not least, well done everyone for doing as well as you have so far, keep up the great work! It aint over until it’s over!!

  40. Joan Hardie Says:

    Hi guys,
I am in the older age group(over 60)I have done BT for a year
now i am doing BS but not the new food group,as I have lost the weight
but need to shape as i have loose skin as you due to age .
I cant do squats due to a very bad knee.no problem walking any ideas?
I have lost 10 kgs and now wgt 60kgs ,do we have to follow the new food
    plan of BS?
    Good luck to all Joan

  41. Kelly Says:

Thanx for the tips. It’s a shame the videographer didn’t zoom out to show us your feet when you were explaining how to stand though, do you have strange feet or something???
Starting 3rd week of challenge & BS and already seeing and feeling a change in muscle tone and loving the results. Helps to keep me motivated. Still doing BT food though as I have some sort of celebration every week-end & that’s the only way I could see to get through. This is a way of life for me now, not just short term.
    Thank-you for my new me!!!

  42. Flossie Says:

Geoff you have addressed some issues that need clarification – I know it was on the dvd but it is easy to fall into doing things incorrectly and thinking you are doing it the right way.

The challenge is what is keeping me doing the bands 3 mornings a week – otherwise it would be very easy to turn over and go back to sleep – have made a commitment to myself to do this and I am feeling the benefits Geoff

  43. Tracey Says:

Had a really big week this week with conferences and a 21st party at my house. Only lost 100g but 2cm off hips and 1.5 off waist (Which I think was good). Feeling really tired this week and so far have put weight back on (hope this is just because I am tired) trying to get as much sleep as possible (Hoping this helps) but starting to feel a little down.

Can’t believe how well everyone is doing keep up the good work I hope to do half as well as some of you.

  44. Nicky Says:

    Hi everyone,
It is so great to get on here and read that everyone is going through similar things to me. For so long the diet battle has been a lonely one and you feel that if the scales don’t show any loss then your a failure and what the hell -” I might as well give up and pig out! But knowing now that it is quite normal that sometimes the scales don’t give a true indication and the proof is now so evident in some of your blogs it gives you a different perspective on the whole weight loss thing. I feel so much stonger mentally for having you all here and following your ups and downs, triumphs and hick ups. Last week the scales told me that I hadn’t lost a thing but people commented that they could see I had lost weight, and I felt and looked better to myself, but still bet myself up that was until I got on and read your blogs. They made me stronger and have had a good week. The scales this week say Ive lost 1.2kg but I don’t feel it like last week. Decided to just stick to it as firmly as I can, as it is for sure doing me good!!
Thanks for answering the questions Geoff – sure that will be a big help
Wishing everyone a good week – hang in there – we can do it!

  45. Narelle Says:

WOO HOO – I’ve only lost 3kg but 2cm all over and 7cm off my abdominals.
All my clothes are baggy and I’ve been recieveing lots of comments on ‘how much weight I’ve lost’

    A few more to go…

  46. Mel Says:

    Hello Geof and Team,
I love this challenge!! I have put my scales up for now, my shape is changing and I would rather concentrate on that for this challenge. As well I have struggled with shoulder press but to my suprise I went up a band this morning and whola I did it… Yeah… I love that there are so many positive people on this site and I agree that the mind is a POWERFUL thing. No guts no glory (my favorite saying) It does take guts to change your life… even for the better. Keep up the sensational work and stay proud…

  47. Maria Sieders Says:

    Hi guys

I had all the intentions to start the challenge, but FAILED again!!!! HELP!!!! I need constructive critisim not negative thoughts!!! Look forward to hearing from anyone!!!

    • Larissa Says:

Jimmy Carter once said: “You can do what you have to do, and sometimes you can do it even better than you think you can.”

and Winston Churchill spoke: “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”

The first step is to begin. Boil an egg in the evening – have it for breakfast the next day with some veges. Cook up some little sausages or reach for the tin of tuna instead of the slice of cake. You need only to take it in small steps to achieve greatness Maria! If you believe you can do it – YOU WILL!! , regardless of how long it takes you!

Geoff – thanks for all the tips…I’m looking forward to trying the shoulder presses on my knees this afternoon!!!

  48. Ursi Says:

Was going fantastic for my first two weeks but went to melbourne for 5 days for my birthday so I have gone off the rails a bit with my food… the great thing though is I was able to take my bands with me … & go plenty of walking in… back home and back into it.

  49. Liz Says:

My hubby looks HOT! he has lost 20 kilos and has been doing the bs challenge and is going along great , we are in this together which makes it so much easier but we do love our wine which we do slip up on the weekend from time to time !

  50. Kate Says:

    Hi,
This is my first blog but I have been on the challenge since it started. I have been a bit discouraged as I have only lost 1.5kg in the last 3-4 weeks. I do feel healthier and fitter and I love using the bands. I find walking every day a challenge. Sometimes on the weekends I have had some carbs but other than that I have been on the BS wagon. When I did BT i lost alot of weight so my goal is to stick with BS for the rest of the 6 weeks then maybe go back to BT. Not sure. I suppose I wanted to see more results by now. I think I am alot fitter and more toned and in certain areas the cms are less. But around my hips still the same! I think the program and doing the 6 wk challenge is motivating and helpful, so thanks Geoff for that.

  51. Anne Says:

    Hi!
You guys arae doing such an inspiring job; keep it up!
I am a couple of weeks behind but trying to keep up with all of the advice.
I lost a heap on BT to and thouhgt BS would help me get to the last little bit. I am sure it will but I’m struggling trying to fit in BS aswell as 10000 steps and everything else. I am not the person to find the answer in buying pre-made meals either, but understand the concept for those who want it. I can relate to the feelings Shirley had re sales promotions too BUT it is only another choice.
My “baby” turned 18 this weekend so all were home for his party and I struggled to keep it up but this is the one system I have found I can live with and that is what is required if we are to remain slim and trim.
All the best to you all and thank you Geoff and the team

  52. Susan Griffiths Says:

    Hi,
Am pretty happy, have lost 5 kgs in 3 weeks, yey! 9cm around my waist! can’t believe it!
I don’t want this challenge to end. I know it is just the beginning of our new lifestyles, but this has been alot of fun. You could extend it 6 more weeks!lol
Oh, and I think we should have a big party at the end to celebrate! hehe
Keep up the gr8 work everyone 🙂

  53. Jacqui Says:

    Hi

Thanks for the foot placement clarification – it will certainly help.
I am rather disappointed that both the bodytrim powder ans cookies have sold out – lots of your recipes call for the powder to make the protein snax! makes it hard. I have tried to find a comparable one in the health food store, – is there any you can recommend as a replacement? I tried a Nature’s Own one, but it was vile. Can you help??

    • Angie Says:

      Hi Jacqui,

I’ve been using the Pharma Foods Isowhey Complete protein powders. Strawberries and Cream is my favourite, but there is Chocolate and French Vanilla also.

In some of the recipes I just use vanilla protein powder and add a tablespoon of cocoa (with no additives) and it tastes fine. You should be able to find these at health food stores, some naturopaths and even some of the cheap chemist stores around. If you get stuck message me and I can help as my husband is a Naturopath and we can post it to you.
There are also some other protein powders that have a higher protein amount but are not retail brands. Pharma Isowhey and Well Naturally do some nice protein bars also.

Good luck – hope you can find some near you.

  54. Edith Says:

    Hi
made a booboo with the BS jump start days because on the menu I printed of cheat sheet was different to the hand book so my jump start day where i eat cashews was the wrong day this through me

  55. Michael Says:

This weeks results were not as good as the previous 2, however all is still heading in the right direction. I also appreciate the sms encouragement. Before I started I emailed my goals to 2 mates (drinking buddies) and to my surprise they have taken a real interest inmy progress. Support sometimes comes from the most unexpected quarter.

  56. Kylie Says:

    Hi,
Have also been very discouraged of late…I have lost some cms off thighs but have actually put it on in the waist??? Have always had a fairly flat stomach but not at the moment. My weight problems have always been my thighs and bottom and now it seems I have a bloated stomach – any advice? Also feeling down as I put my tailbone and neck out so haven’t been able to walk or do bodysculpt for 2 days….nearly ready to give up!

  57. Karen Says:

    Hi
Could you tell me what exercise is best to get rid of a stomach, doesn’t seem to matter how much I lose or not stomach is still flabby!

  58. Kay Bernard Says:

Hi Kayley I am doing my exercises soon and will be putting Geoffs tips into practice. We went to Forster for the weekend and we had some great walks and I took the bands and used them sunday morning on the balcony of our 8th floor unit. What a great outlook it was nice looking at the veiw while doing the bands. The shoulder presses are the hardest for me. some of the answers to my questions were in the video but I have lots more and would love a one on one chat with Geoff for a few minutes. That would be great.
Did stray a bit on saturday night with dinner but straight back into the routine on Sunday and felt good.
Are you going to try the ready to eat meals??
I hope you have a great week and maybe try the BT chocolate shake when you crave chocolate. That helps me.
    Cheers
    Kay

  59. Anne Says:

Yesterday I fell in a heap towards the end of the day again. My eldest son is home for the week and he cooked the meal for me before I got home – he doesn’t know I don’t eat pasta! Just didn’t realize. But not only that , because he is home my mother in law cooked a baked custard for us and believe me you have never tasted baked egg custard like she makes!! I succumbed.
But today is a new day and at 7:30 I have been up and done my BS exercises and been for a walk. Today I will be in control of what gets cooked. and I will make some more BTP biscuits. They can enjoy the goodies but they are not for me. Got to go and cook my vegetable omlette now. LOL

  60. JoPR Says:

Just wondering why your New Zealand customers can’t order off the internet. it’s quite frustrating as you have to log a call and wait for someone to call you back so you can place an order.
Just to order my BS it took over a week of calls, waiting for the return, missing that, then re-ring as they only seem to call once… now i want to order the meals and have been waiting all day yesterday and half a day today for the call back. Feel like i’m going to miss out because of your order system.
This is my only complaint about the BT or BS otherwise i think it’s a wonderful tool in discovering the ‘new’ me. Just wish you could work out our overseas ordering system!

  61. Jody Says:

I am half way through my 3rd week of the challenge and am really motivated and finding it very easy to follow – even with running a cafe ! … I have lost 5.5 kgs and my work pants now fall off (everyone noticed and now are asking about bodytrim and bodysculpt).
Thanks for the clarification on where to place feet etc Geoff – that will help as I always had my feet together. I have found it easier with four kids and a busy cafe to walk 5kms in the morning and then 5kms in the early evening.
Keeping up the motivation too by reading and now joining in on the blog (as requested 😉 …. keep up the great work everyone.

  62. Shelly Says:

Hiya Geoff, hubby and I are both into BT and now BS and doing really well. Thank you!!
My BIG question is about bodily functions: we are having some trouble with No 2s, is this normal…part and parcel so to say…we drink approx 2.5 litres water per day, walk, BS, measure and weigh EVERYTHING and follow the 3×3 rule. Could we be having too much vegetables/salads ??

  63. Karen Gardner Says:

I’ve had a couple of bad days… always falling at the end of the day. Although I’ve started the next day with great intentions, again I’ve fallen late in the day. It’s frustrating, but surprisingly I’m still so motivated to not let it get to me and go back to my old ways. I’ve lost 3.5 kgs so far and I’m trying to focus on how excited I’m going to be when I can see the changes in my body in the coming weeks. Thanks for listening;;; I do find reading the blogs helps me get back on track!!

  64. Nicky Says:

I have had a very slow start to the BS. Feeling a little left behind as I have had a neck injury. However, I am keeping up with the walking and the 3+3, so I am getting results, just not as fast as I would like. I have always been impatient though.
The monthly measure up is brilliant!! That is where I can see the results the most, so I’m looking forward to being able to do more strenious exercise in the future. Not going to risk it at moment because i’m trying to avoid having an operation on my cervical spine,, being very good.
I do have trouble getting my last protein snack in at night. Can you all tell me what you have before bed please to give me some ideas.

    • glenice Says:

Hi Nicky– I’ve ordered the Chocolate Protein powder, and I’m hoping that when it comes back in stock, I’ll have the equivalent of a hot chocolate as the last snack as I read in bed at night. I’ve always loved a hot cocoa. I love the suggestion of a few prawns, too.
So comforting to know I wasn’t the only one to have trouble with the overhead press. To start with, I could only do about 3 together, even though I made myself do the whole number in the end, and the rest times were pretty long. Yesterday, I found I was able to do the 1st 2 sets at 20reps, and the 3rd set at 11+5+4(but the last one was about 3/4 high). I’m getting stronger with the squats now, too, so it’s encouraging to know, that even with a poor beginning (I thought my legs were going to die!!), we can get better

  65. Nicky Says:

    TO MARIA
Don’t panick… It really does not matter if you f…ed it up today because tomorro is only 1 sleep away. Plan your breakfast and your first snack, then let it roll on from there. If you dont make it past lunch, DONT PANICK because tomorrow is only 1 sleep away. Plan your breakfast, your first snack and your lunch. Remember tomorrow is another step closer to your goal. It has probably taken a long time to get into your current habits, so it’s only natural that it will take you some time to re-program yourself. Just think one step, one meal, one day at a time. You can do it. Be good to yourself.

  66. Kathy Says:

Thanks Geoff- your answers were great and I’ve got lots of tips. This is my second week and have advanced into blue band 30 reps – standing shoulder press the exception and your tip is great probably kneeling for me would be the best will give it a go. Does anyone know about sesame oil -if a teaspoon on salad OK – I’ve got a great recipe with cabbage.

  67. Kathy Says:

Hi Nicky I usually have about 5-6 prawns – you have to weigh them to make sure you have 50g because the sizes vary If you buy smaller ones you can have more- but if I find I have forgotten these are easy to gobble down when you streak out of bed when you realise. I buy then cooked and peeled of course usually weigh up 3 nights and store each 50g in plastic containers in the fridge.

  68. Teena Says:

Congratulations to everyone for your great determination and persistence to succeed. Below is a few words of inspiration…

Men’s best successes come after their disappointments.

Life has no smooth road for any of us; and in the bracing atmosphere of a high aim the very roughness stimulates the climber to steadier steps, till the legend, over steep ways to the stars, fulfills itself.

  69. Megan Duncombe Says:

Thanks for the BS tips Geoff, always good to know that you are doing the exercises correctly to get maxium gain. To everyone worried about the scales, don’t be as alot of the time it is the cm, your clothes will tell the storey so keep up the good work and you will get results. Rome wasn’t built in a day!

Anyone who is a bit sceptic about the Ready to eat meals, I don’t believe that Geoff is out to take advantage and make money, like other BT products they are there as an option and a convienence to help you stay compliant and achieve your goals. It is an individual choice if you choose to purchase or not. I cook my own meals 99% of the time, however I have the meals in the cupboard and use them as an emergency. They all taste gr8 and they are handy for when you are late home from work, been away, too tired, shift work etc or your just hungry and want to eat straight away. In around 5 minutes you can have a meal and some steamed vegies ready to go, and best of all they all taste fantastic. Don’t even think of comparing these meals to frozen supermarket one’s, because they’re not even in the same ball park!

Heads up everyone, on the down hill run now.

  70. Angie Newman Says:

    Hi,
I have just entered my third week of the BS Challenge, as I started on the 8th Feb…waiting for my BS package to arrive.
I was so excited last week when I jumped on the scales and found that I had lost another 2kgs…that’s a total of 4kgs since the 1st Feb. Bodysculpt has been a nice change from months of BT and having hit a plateau, it has helped me to plough through it. I now only have 4kgs to go before I’m at my goal weight. I started the Challenge hoping to lose around 5kgs and I have nearly already lost that in the first 2 weeks of it. Thanks for the tips for the BS exercises, I was a bit weary about the feet position but just did what was comfortable. I’m happy that I actually had the stances correct. I have been struggling with the shoulder press but now I have alternatives, It’s good to know that I wasn’t alone with the struggle.

  71. Hayley Fiegert Says:

Getting harder at the moment, whole family had gastro over last couple of days and found it hard to eat properly. Also had 4 days away last week so a bit slack on the bands food side wasn’t so bad. But my weight was exactly the same when I came home :-). Away again next week so will have to be good. Have lost 8kg so far on BT but still have about 3-5kg to go. But feeling a lot healthier and getting a lot of compliments which boosts the self esteem.

  72. lisa Says:

    HI Geoff,
Thanks for all the ongoing support. What a big effort on your part – seems like what I am doing is much easier! I am still motivated after 3.5 weeks and looking forward to the remainder of the challenge.

  73. Ruth Says:

    Geoff,
Thanks for this weeks video. The best yet. It was great to get the answer to my question plus other wonderful tips and explanations. Really has encouraged me to keep on going. Read through the book again about the exercise bank. It is all making sense. Think you might need to do this again in 12 weeks as I can’t quite work out the next stage. But hey that is still another 7 weeks away. Going great now with the bands and on track. Thanks again for a wonderful and very useful video.

  74. Tineke Wallace Says:

    Hi Geoff,
Yes, this week’s video was good, as far as getting some of the many questions answered. However, I had this hope in the back of my mind, that you might decide to make a DVD of you doing them, plus the stretches, for a whole 25 minute session, to some jazzy music! Then we’d be able to work along with that, and really know we’re doing all of it 100% right! I’d be the first one to put their hand up to buy it, as it is really what I need right now!
    Tineke

  75. Deb K Says:

Hi Bodysculpters! Great to read all your stories…you are all fantastic! I bought BS in Dec 2009 and after reading the first pages I couldn’t believe I would actually be able cope with no bread/toast or the odd cereal with pp of course at breakfast and most of all, without the promise of the free day every week! So BS sat untouched(very satisfied BT er for 12mths!)until Geoff’s challenge made me challenge myself! Thanks Geoff…loving the eating!(and the bands yippee!) Would just like to just put to all who are disappointed with 1kg or less weight loss per week that maybe your skin will thankyou. Saggy skin and stretchmarks aren’t too attractive either. Slow and steady is good too ok?! Keep believing!

  76. Lyn Says:

    Hi All,
Really enjoying the challenge. Have not lost much on the scales, 1.3kg, but have dispensed with 15 cm and about 2.3% of bodyfat ( I think, my scales are very temperamental). I have been doing the bands with bt eating since they came out first and I really feel my bad back has strengthened a lot. I am enjoying the BS eating, love the schnitzel and mixed nut biscuits. On Jumpstart day it is hard to believe I am actually being compliant, as I enjoy my nuts and cheese!
Keep up the great work everyone.

  77. Cheryl Says:

    Hi Geoff,

Thanks for the tips on the exercises especially the shoulder press! I am having trouble getting into e-lesson 3 it keeps taking me to lesson 2. Please help!
    Thanks heaps.

  78. Judi Says:

Hello all. End of week 3 for me and very pleased with finally losing a better amount of weight-700gms (previous weeks only 100 and 200gms respectively). Glad to have the clarification about feet placement as I have been doing it wrong!!! Perhaps even more weight loss this week if I can do the bs correctly. Keep up all the good work everyone-it is soo worth it. I haven’t felt this great for years!

  79. Shirley Says:

What is happening to wk 4? Has anyone got it on their computer. Waiting for my next motivation prompt!

  80. Shirley Says:

    Whoops, I meant wk 5!

  81. Karin Richardson Says:

I have been using yr system for years and love it but need to purchase my bands. Could you please provide yr size where I can purchase them.
    THANKYOU
